What You Will Do
The responsibilities will include:
- Automation and on-demand availability on portal, of many reports that are currently delivered under a service model (e.g. yield estimation and loss assessment). Attempt to drive towards our vision of farm-level yield assessment.
- Developing alternative solutions for remote-based imagery in case of cloud cover.
- Development of agro-meteorological products in line with crop insurance market requirement.
- Client delivery, planning and management.
Successful candidate must have the following:
- Sc/ M.Tech/ Ph.D. in Agronomy/ Horticulture/ Soil Science from a reputed institute, with strong academic record.
- 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience. Must have at least 5 years of experience in using NDVI and other vegetative indices for crop yield and health estimation.
- Experience with climate and weather data analysis, computation of different climatic and vegetative indices, climatic hazards (e.g., drought and flood) induced vulnerability assessment for the agricultural sector.
- Excellent Understanding of crop physiology and farming practices.
- Sound working experience on ERDAS/ENVI and ArcGIS software.
- Strong analytical and innovative skills and should have ability to think creatively.
- Self driven & results oriented.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
- Good client engagement skills.
- Strong team player with ability to work well upwards and downwards and with peers in cross-functional teams
